LARKANA: The district and sessions court on Monday extended interim bail of former GDA MPA Moazzim Ali Abbasi, his son Waleed Abbasi and Asad Tunio to Jan 22.

Moazzim Abbasi appeared before the court along with his counsels, Advocate Javed Buledi, Barrister Kazim Abbasi and others to attend hearing for the confirmation of his bail at antiterrorism court.

Judge Simkan Hussain Mughal, who is also in-charge judge of the antiterrorism court, asked police officials concerned to submit final challan in the case on next hearing of the case.

In a brief chat with media persons outside the court, Abbasi expressed confidence in the judiciary and said that he, his family and supporters had faced many such cases prior to this one but courts had always acquitted them honourably. The current case was also merely a tool of political victimisation, he said.

In a related development, PPP MPA Sardar Khan Chandio, who was also chieftain of Chandio clan, met Abbasi at Kot Dorab on Monday and held closed door meeting on possible settlement between Siyals and Abbasis, said sources.
