KARACHI: The Sindh government functionaries briefed Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday on public-private partnership initiatives in the fields of agriculture, fisheries, electric vehicles charging, etc.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon, Energy Minister Nasir Shah and others attended the meeting.

A statement issued after the meeting said that Mr Bhutto-Zardari was briefed by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Public-Private Partnerships Qasim Naveed Qamar.

He was briefed on various public-private partnership projects aimed at improving infrastructure in sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and electric vehicle charging, said the statement.

“The public-private partnership projects in the agricultural sector of Sindh will lead to a record increase in the production of crops such as rice, potatoes, bananas, oranges, mangoes, guavas, and dates, according to the briefing,” said the statement citing the points of the briefing.

The chairman lauded initiatives hoping that the projects would improve the lives of the people in all sectors from healthcare to infrastructure and emphasised that public-private partnership projects, especially in agriculture and fisheries, can bring about an economic revolution in the country.
