KARACHI: The Pakistan Railways (PR) has planned to outsource at least seven of its trains, it emerged on Thursday.

According to an advertisement prepared by the PR, bids from the private sector are being invited for the outsourcing of seven of its trains.

The trains are the Hazara Express, Karachi Express, Fareed Express, Bahauddin Zakria Express, Sukkur Express, the Mohenjo Daro Passenger and the Rawalpindi Passenger trains.

It is said by the PR that this step was being taken “to increase private sector participation and also to enhance passenger facilitation”.

The bids are to be submitted to the PR by Feb 10. They will also be opened the same day.
