SWAT: The roof of a dilapidated house collapsed due to heavy rain, at Shalpin area on Monday night resulting in the tragic death of a woman and her two children.

According to police, in the Shalpin area of Tehsil Khwazakhela, Swat, the roof of a fragile house gave way following heavy rainfall.

The roof collapse claimed the lives of a woman, her six-year-old son Abdul Rehman, and two-year-old daughter Marwa, who were buried under the debris.

Local residents conducted rescue efforts and recovered the bodies, which were then shifted to Khwazakhela Hospital.

The recent heavy rainfall and snowfall in the region have also triggered landslides and snow avalanches in various areas, exacerbating the challenges faced by the local population.

These natural calamities have caused significant disruptions, with blocked roads and damaged infrastructure further isolating the affected communities.
