ISLAMABAD: The Pak­is­tan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Tuesday anno­unced a five-member team for the Davis Cup World Group-I playoff against Kazakhstan being held early next month.

The Davis Cup tie will be held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan on Feb 1-2.

According to a press release issued here by the PTF, trials for selecting the Davis Cup team were conducted at the PTF Tennis Complex in Islamabad from Jan 11-14.

Huzaifa Abdul Reh­man, Muzammil Murtaza and Ahmad Nael were selected to the Davis Cup team following the trials while veteran Aqeel Khan and Mohammad Shoaib were exempted from the trials.

Mohammad Haseeb Aslam (captain) and Mohammad Shahid (physio) will also accompany the national team.

The players appeared in the abovementioned trials on the basis of their current Pak­is­tan Tennis Federation rankings and performance at national and international levels.
