RAWALPINDI: Three people were killed in separate incidents in the garrison city during the last 24 hours.

Police said a lift-operator working in Bahria Town’s phase VII died after falling from the lift.

Shortly after he fell down, he was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The deceased was identified as Kausar Mehmood, 19.

In another incident, a young man was found dead in Gulistan Fatima colony in Dhamial.

Mohammad Shoaib informed the police that his brother Ihtisham, 18, had committed suicide at home. He said the reason behind the incident was not known.

In another incident, a motorcycle rider was killed after being hit by a speeding car in Rawat area on Saturday.

Mohammad Javaid, father of the deceased lodged an FIR with police, stating that his son Mohammad Zahid was on his way to Bahria Town’s phase VIII to impart tuition to students on his motorcycle.

He said his son was hit by a speeding car, driven by an unidentified driver and died on the spot.

The car driver managed to escape from the scene, however, police impounded the vehicle and shifted it to the police station.
