KARACHI: The Government of Pakistan have protested against the deliberate attempts of Indian Military units to drive the Muslims living on the Indian side of the Sind-Rajputana border to Pakistan, it was learnt … on Thursday [Jan 26]. The protest, lodged through the Pakistan High Commissioner in India, brings to the notice of the Indian Government that the Indian Military Units … posted along the Sind-Rajputana border are harassing the Muslim population of the border villages so that they may be forced to migrate to Pakistan.

[Meanwhile, as per a correspondent in Peshawar,] … Reports say that general instructions have been issued through-out Afghanistan to the Imams of mosques to make anti-Pakistan propaganda in their Khutbas before the commencement of the Friday prayers.

Certain Ulema of Herat, Qandhar and Mazar Sharif, it is understood, have declined to abide by these Government orders which, they say, are totally derogatory to the spirit of Islamic Shariat. The Afghan authorities, it is learned, have arrested some of these divines and general consternation is reported among their followers.
