RAWALPINDI: Nine people were hospitalised with burn injuries they sustained due to gas leak explosion in a food outlet in New Town area while another injured in a similar incident that took place in a house in Faisal Colony succumbed to his burn injuries on Monday.

With the expiry of a female, one of the burn victims of Faisal colony, the death toll in the gas leak explosion in Gulzar-e-Quaid increased to two.

As many as 13 people, including parents and their teenage daughter, two sons were injured, six of them critically in a gas cylinder explosion followed by fire in in the house in Faisal Colony (airport police area) on January 10, 2025.

The critically injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) hospital where one of the injured, Sajjad Ahmad died after struggling for his life for four days.

On Mondat another injured victim of the incident lost life in a hospital on Monday.

In the fresh incident on Monday, nine people were shifted to the Holy Family Hospital with burn injuries they sustained during a gas leak explosion in a food outlet located opposite to the hospital.

The burn victims were identified as Adil, Mohammad Hameed, resident of Layyah, Nazuk Hussain, Liaquat Hussain, Suleman, resident of Kashmir, Ansar Shahzad, Khalil Hussain, resident of Muzaffargarh, Naseem Ahmad, 45, and Ahmad, 21.

Meanwhile, a man was killed after being hit by a speeding car on the G.T Road near Lahore High Court while crossing the road on Monday.
