SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A government boys school in Manra area was partially damaged when an explosive device planted inside the building went off in Lower South Waziristan district on Monday evening, the police said.

District police officer Asif Bahader confirmed that unidentified miscreants entered the school building and planted explosives in a bathroom, which went off with a bang, causing partial damage to the building.

However, he said fortunately no casualties were reported because nobody was present there. The incident created panic among the locals.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Mr Bahader said that an investigation had been launched to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
