MUZAFFARGARH: In a rare gathering, MPs from the region and district administration discussed measures to protect white pomegranate crop in Alipur

Sown and raised over hundreds of acres, white pomegranate orchards have shrunk over the years but no concrete step has been taken .

Monday’s meet chaired by MNA and chairman of the District Coordination Committee Amir Talal Gopang discussed ways to control the disease affecting the crop.

Deputy Commissioner Quratul Memon asked the agriculture department to come up with a solution.

MPA Muhammad Ajmal Khan Chandia pointed out that a public bus of the District Health Authority had been sent from Muzaffargarh district to Lahore, which should be brought back.

The DC directed Health CEO Dr Zafar Abbas to take immediate action in this regard. A proposal was also discussed for the construction of a sports complex for the youth of Alipur and Jatoi tehsils, which was supported by all the members.
