[Meanwhile in Lahore,] a steady flow of Muslims from India into Pakistan is indicated by figures supplied by the Pakistan High Commissioner in India … about the issue of permanent and temporary permits. From October 1948 to October 31, 1949 ... about 2,50,000 permits were issued to Muslims coming to Pakistan.

[As per reports from Rawalpindi,] a big gang engaged in printing forged Pakistan currency notes has been caught by the Rawalpindi Police. Seven persons have so far been arrested and many more arrests are expected. Besides a printing machine and blocks of Rs 100 and Rs 10 notes, two blocks of Mr Ghulam Mohammad’s signatures and numbering machines have also been recovered.
