DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed concerns over the plight of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the PTI-led provincial government has completely failed to deliver on all fronts.

He expressed these views during a visit to the residence of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) tehsil president Syed Taqeer Shah in Mithapur, Paharpur tehsil, the other day.

The governor was welcomed by PPP local leaders including former nazim of Paharpur Haji Ayub Khan Marwat, tehsil general secretary Junaid Tariq Qureshi, Liaqat Ali Sajjadi and Jalal Khan.

The governor met with PPP workers and listened to their concerns. He assured them of his support in resolving their issues.

Talking to journalists, he said that provincial government had done nothing so far to address the issues of people. He said that his claim about presence of treacherous people in Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf was proven after the removal of provincial president of the party.

Governor Kundi also highlighted progress on Chashma Lift Canal project, noting that three surveys had already been conducted. He said that some people were prematurely claiming inauguration of the project when funds were not released for it.

He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Wapda chairman for taking special interest in the project. He said that work on the project would be launched in the current year.

He said that land acquisition for construction of an international airport in Dera Ismail Khan was completed. He said that the inauguration of Band Korai grid station was planned that would resolve the longstanding power issues faced by the residents of Paharpur.

The governor mingled with PPP officials, workers and locals, reaffirming his commitment to addressing their concerns and ensuring their well-being.
