LAHORE: The All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions (APFTU) staged a protest rally on Wednesday against a cut in pension and gratuity of government employees, unemployment and inflation.

Addressing the rally held on Nisbet Road, union leaders, including General Secretary Khurshid Ahmad, demanded the government withdraw the notification in this regard.

They also urged the government to regularise contract and temporary workers employed in public and private companies.

They demanded the government should raise wages of the workers employed in government, semi-government and private bodies alike the members of national and provincial assemblies besides taking measures to stop rising unemployment and price hike.

The participants of the rally were holding banners in support of their demands.
