LAHORE: The passing-out parade of the second batch of probationary officers was held at Police Training College Chuhng here on Wednesday.

Among the probationers completing their training were 115 officers from ASI to inspector rank, including 22 women, a legal inspector, 84 sub-inspectors, and 20 ASIs, who completed a 7-month probationer course.

Among those completing the training course, 43 officers hold MPhil, MSc and MA degrees and 71 officers have BA, BS degrees.Addressing the passing-out officers, Inspector General of Punjab (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar directed them to use the best training in combating terrorists, criminals and land grabbers.

“The Pakistan Army, Rangers, Levies and Police, we are all in uniform and united for the protection of the country,” said the IGP.

He said that the Punjab police thwarted 17 attacks on border checkposts during the last two years by strengthening the posts and equipping the force with modern weapons including thermal imaging cameras and drone technology. He also informed that over 1,000 ASIs, more than 400 sub-inspectors, and over 80 inspectors were being recruited through the PPSC.

The promotion boards for this year have already been set in advance, and in this context, promotions for the next batch of DSPs will take place in the first week of the next month.
