SAHIWAL: The Special Judge of the Anti-Corruption Establishment on Wednesday indicted Khawar Manika, former husband of PTI leader Imran Khan’s wife Bushera, two sons Ibrahim Manika and Musa Manika, and some employees of the excise, revenue and Auqaf departments in a Rs113.1 million corruption.

Judge Asif Bashir fixed Feb 5 as next date of hearing.

Khawar Manika, his two sons, and a number of officials from revenue and Auqaf were nominated on corruption charges in a reference filed by then deputy commissioner, Okara, on August 23, 2023.

According to prosecution, the Manikas allegedly constructed 26 shops and a marriage hall illegally on a four kanal plot designated for Pir Islam graveyard in Havili Lakha without obtaining map approval from the municipal committee.

They were indicted under the PPC 409, 166 and PCA section 5-2/47 by the ACE, Okara.

Ibrahim Manika fled to Spain after bail confirmation from the Lahore High Court.
