KARACHI: Asad Zaman, Mohammad Yahya and Mohammad Salar advanced to the semi-finals of the boys Under-18 at the Ocean Siddiqsons National Juniors Tennis Championship here at the DA Creek Club on Wednesday.

Zaman secured his spot with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ismail Aftab while Yahya battled past Ruhab Faisal 7-6, 6-1. Salar booked his place by defeating Rayyan Khan 6-2, 6-3.

In the boys Under-18 second round, Ismail Aftab beat Laraib Shamsi 6-4, 6-2 while Taimoor Ansari eased past Ali Bachani 6-0, 6-0 whereas Ruhab Faisal defeated Mustafa Chottani 6-0, 6-1 and Yahya outplayed Dhuraf Das 6-0, 6-2. On the other hand, Rayan Khalil got past Junaid Mahar 6-2, 6-3 while Muhammad Salar eliminated Hazik Areejo 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, Asad Zaman advanced after Zayd Zaman withdrew.

The boys Under-14 category also saw strong performances, Ibrahim Hussain downed Tariq Rafi 4-2, 4-2 while Rayyan Khan outclassed Zayd Zaman 4-1, 4-0. Ali Bachani blanked Syed Abdullah 4-0, 4-0 whereas Waqas Janas overcame Arsh Imran 4-1, 4-2. In another encounter, Meher Hyderabad edged past Mohammad Ayan 4-2, 2-4, 4-1.

In the girls Under-18 singles quarter-finals, Noor Hilalay dominated Alizey Salman 6-1, 6-0 while Daliah Ashraf breezed past Innara Akram 6-0, 6-0.

The boys Under-14 doubles witnessed Meer Abbas Bhagat and Aish Imran securing victory against Sohail and Abrar 4-1, 4-1 in the first round.

Inaara Akram defeated Zara Sheikh 4-1, 4-1 during girls Under-14 singles opening match.
