NAROWAL: Locals caught a wild deer of rare breed in Shakargarh on Thursday that was later set free by wildlife department officials in the forest.

As per wildlife department sources, they were informed that a wild deer of a rare breed had entered Musapur village in the suburbs of Shakargarh.

The deer wandered in the village street and entered a cattle pen that was besieged by locals, who caught the animal.

The sources said a team of wildlife and security personnel went to the village, seized the animal of rare breed and freed it in the forest after its medical examination, in the presence of locals.
