KARACHI: The National Padel Championship will be staged in Karachi in April, an official of the Pakistan Padel Federation (PPF) said on Saturday.

PPF secretary general Quratulain said that the preparations for the championship which would be held from April 11 to 13, had been started.

“Instructions regarding the championship had been issued to the relevant departments, provincial and regional associations,” the official added.

The event has three categories — men, women and mixed competitions.

According to Quratulain, prize money worth Rs1 million had been earmarked for the championship.

The official further said that the PPF during the national championship would also select the Pakistan team for the Asian Padel Championship scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in October this year.
