LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has taunted the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for failing to muster support of the masses for its Feb 8 country-wide protest to mark the anniversary of the alleged rigging in the 2024 general election.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, she said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also rejected the politics of chaos and violence propagated by the PTI founder as it could not gather even 5,000 people for its main protest meeting in Swabi despite the misuse of government resources.

She alleged that the 5,000 included government employees, who were forced to join the PTI rallies. “Those who did come forward got themselves deliberately arrested just to score points in front of their leader.” She emphasised that not a single PTI supporter came out of any district of Punjab and KP chief Minister Ali Ameen Gandapur, as per his usual behaviour, attempted to please the PTI founder through indecent tactics but failed.
