MIRPURKHAS: Two small children were burnt alive and their parents seriously injured in a fire that destroyed several straw-made huts in Deh 160 of Pabban union council in Digri taluka on Monday.

Aslam Wehlo and Ms Soorthi received burn injuries while trying to save their children, Subhani and Ghafoor.

The fire had started during cooking of food in the couple’s house and engulfed some adjacent huts due to strong winds. It also left a number of cattle heads dead.

The couple, along with their children’s charred bodies, were taken to the Digri Taluka Hospital, where doctors referred them to a major hospital in Hyderabad for proper treatment.
