ISLAMABAD: Six police officials including SHO, station clerk (moharrar), deputy station clerk (naib moharrar) and an ASI of the Banigalapolice station were booked after a murder suspect escaped from police lockup after breaking its locks, police said.

Though the suspect committed the murder along with his accomplices in Nilore police station area, he was kept in Banigala police station on physical remand.

The police claimed that they found the broken lock and an iron rod after the escape of the suspect.

A case has been registered against the escapee at Banigala police station under section 155-C of Police Order 2002 along with sections 223 and 224 of Pakistan Penal Code.

Earlier, the Nilore police in response to an information recovered a body into nine piecesnear a tunnel at Simly Dam Road on Jan 27.

Later the police shifted the body to Polyclinic hospital for pending identification and legal procedure.

Raja Mohammad Majeed, whose son had disappeared on Jan 20, identified him as his son Raja Faisar Majeed, 45. He told police that his son had not returned home since Jan 20. He had started a search for his son and also called him on his mobile, but it was found switched off.

Later, he came to know that tenants of his shop had taken away his son. Majeed also called his tenants to inquire about his son, but their mobile phones too were found switched off.

He searched for his son and the tenants but remained unsuccessful and later found the chopped body of his son at the hospital. Majeed alleged that his tenants abducted and murdered his son over an issue of not paying of three months’ rent of the shop and electricity bills.

In response to Majeed’s complaint, Banigala police had registered a case against two persons, including the escaped suspect under sections 302 (murder), 365 (Kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of PPC.

After registration of the case the police arrested one of the tenants for further legal action. Police also conducted a news conference on Jan 28, in which they claimed that under the supervision of SP Rural Kazim Naqvi the police conducted an in-depth investigation and swiftly resolved the murder case.
