NAROWAL: A woman police constable was shot dead under mysterious circumstances in Sialkot on Monday.

Constable Najaf Bibi (45) was living with her husband Atif Shah in the official residence in the Cantt area of Sialkot where she was found murdered on Monday.

District police spokesman Malik Waqas Ahmed said police received the information that the police constable Najaf Bibi was found dead with bullet wounds at her home. He said after receiving the information, District Police Officer Faisal Shahzad and Deputy Superintendent of Police Tariq Mehmood arrived at the scene and formed a team, headed by DSP Tariq.

According to the preliminary information, Najaf Bibi was a constable in the Elite Force and she and her husband were performing their duties in Sialkot. They had three daughters and one son.

The DPO told Dawn police were investigating the case from every angle to find out whether Najaf was killed or she had committed suicide.
