KARACHI: A somewhat warm day in the metropolis turned pleasant after several areas received drizzle on Monday evening.

The drizzle came in areas included I.I. Chundrigar Road, Burnes Road, Saddar, Sharea Faisal, Landhi, Malir, Quaidabad, Surjani Town, North Karachi, Nazimabad, etc, after mercury surged to 33.5 degree Celsius in the metropolis.

Reports attributed the light showers to a western disturbance.

The Met office said that the minimum temperature recorded in the city was 19°C. Relative humidity recorded was 36 per cent and 91pc in the evening and morning, respectively.

Meanwhile, an advisory issued by the Met department forecast rain, wind, and thunderstorms with snowfall over hills in the upper regions of the country from Feb 19 to 21, which is expected to end the prolonged dry spell.

“Dry weather is likely to prevail in most parts of Sindh during this period. However, gusty winds are expected along the coastal areas,” it added.
