LAHORE: A two-day Kabaddi competition concluded at Jilani Park on Tuesday as part of the Horse & Cattle Show 2025 under the aegis of the Parks & Horticulture Authority.
The top four teams in the tournament included Pakistan Wapda, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force, and Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The first match was held between Pakistan Wapda and Pakistan HEC. Pakistan Wapda scored 57 points, while Pakistan HEC scored 34 points. In the second match, Pakistan Air Force scored 44 points, defeating Pakistan Army, which scored 33 points.
The winners and runners-up will receive prizes and trophies worth Rs1.6 million. The final match will take place on Wednesday. Before the final, the ‘Sheer Punjab Dangal’ will be held, where the winning player will receive a prize of Rs600,000.
A large crowd gathered at the park to witness the Kabaddi matches, which featured renowned players such as Shafique Chishti, captain of Pakistan Kabaddi, along with Kaleemullah, Nafees Gujjar, Shaukat Mana Gul, Bilal Gul, Aslam Gul, and others showcasing their talent.
CLEANLINESS: Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza visited various areas in Model Town tehsil on Tuesday to inspect ongoing cleanliness efforts.
He reviewed the cleaning arrangements on Walton Road, surrounding areas, and the Shanghai Bridge Drain.
During the visit, the assistant commissioner briefed him on operations aimed at improving the cleaning system, removing encroachments, and relocating animals and temporary settlements.
He instructed the Walton Cantonment Board to enhance cleanliness measures and directed Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) officials to conduct surprise field inspections. He emphasised the importance of ensuring the timely attendance of LWMC workers and completing cleaning procedures before the city’s daily routines begin.
