Bowlers hold sway in Multan tie

LAHORE, April 24: Fine bowling by Najaf Shah and Janisar Khan put PIA in sight of victory against Sialkot after an eventful second day of the Pentangular Cup fixture at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Both pace bowlers claimed four wickets apiece on a day when no less than 18 wickets fell.

Despire taking a first-innings lead of 69 runs, Sialkot crashed to 66 all out in the second innings to leave PIA chasing a modest target of 136.

PIA were 17-1 at close of play.

Earlier, paceman Asim Butt took five for 65 as PIA mustered 209 in the first innings in response to Sialkot’s 278.
