TOBA TEK SINGH: Literature lovers on Thursday thronged the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) to enjoy the literary activities carried out as a part of the four-day Lyallpur Art and Literature Festival (LALF).
As per results of All Pakistan Visual and Performing Art Contest in the festival, Moizzah Noor from the Punjab College of Law bagged first position in the calligraphy contest.
In painting, Rabeel Fatima from the GCUF remained first; in drawing, Areeba Manzoor from the GCUF got first position while in QISSAH ’25 visual and performing art competition, best actor male position went to FAST Chiniot, best actor female to MANSUA, best actor, best production technical and best direction to the GCUF.
UAF VC Dr Muhammad Sarwar Khan praised all the participants for their performances and contributions.
FANKAR GHAR: The Punjab Arts Council Faisalabad inaugurated ‘Fankar Ghar’ for artists from the area with the aim of encouraging the local artists and promoting art and literature-related activities of the young generation.
A press release said on Thursday that training workshops, conferences, festivals, mushairas, evening ghazals, folk dances, stage dramas, cinema shows, short film trainings, exhibition of painting and other literary activities would be organized at the Fankar Ghar.
Dr Shahid Iqbal Rana, principal University of Education Faisalabad Campus, Dr Zafar, dean Fine Arts National University of Textiles, Tariq Javed, former director of the Faisalabad Arts Council, and students of several universities of Faisalabad were present in the opening ceremony.
