LAHORE: The rail traffic on the Up-track faced disruption after a goods train derailed near Kot Radha Kishan Railway Station on Thursday afternoon, around 30km from Lahore main station.

According to an official of the Pakistan Railways Police (PRP), the goods train was on the way to Lahore when one of its wagons derailed, leaving it with no option but to stop on the main up-track.

“No damage, except to a wagon, was reported. The crew also remained safe,” said an official while talking to Dawn.

“The Lahore-bound passenger trains were diverted on the down-track and passed on to their destination (Lahore via Raiwind),” the official said, adding that an inquiry had also been ordered to find out the reason behind the derailment.
