A CONFUSED APPROACH: The Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) advertised several posts for headmaster, subject specialist and assi-stant director in December 2024, followed by a series of addendums. Surprisingly, many important queries regarding the syllabus and eligibility still remain unanswered. Unfortunately, this shows poor BPSC administration. Truly, the commission needs to learn from its counterparts in the other provinces. Usually, a notification in itself should be clear in stating all the necessary and required elements. In fact, the series of addendums only leads to confusion and frustration to the aspiring candidates. As such, the matter must be addressed by notifying everything either on website or through a clear notification.

TRAFFIC AND WATER WOES: The roads in Mominabad, a locality in Karachi, are in a deplorable state, leading to frequent traffic congestion and accidents. The inadequate infrastructure not only causes frustration, but also poses sign-ificant safety risks to the commuters. Moreover, the lack of reliable water supply to the area forces the residents to rely on costly tankers, placing an undue burden on low-income households. The authorities concerned should prioritise the provision of civic facilities urgently.

PRACTICAL LEARNING: There is no doubt that the education system in Pakistan has been revamped several times. However, it has failed to deliver results. The young in Pakistan need practical knowledge and hands-on lear-ning. While the rest of the world makes strides in various fields, we are stuck in our outdated pattern of education. Moreover, many people are unable to get even basic education, and those who do get it are unable to compete with the world due to their limited knowledge as well as exposure. The authorities need to emphasise on imparting practical knowledge and modern education.
