NAROWAL: Five persons died and a woman was seriously injured in two road accidents in Sheikhupura on Monday, while two dancing horses were also killed in one of the incidents.

Rescue 1122 media coordinator said in the first incident, three men, identified asPhilips Mushtaq, Aamir Mushtaq and Ahmed Latif, were on a motorcycle, taking their two dancing horses along by holding their reins, when the bike was hit by a speeding dumper truck.

As a result, all three motorcyclists suffered critical injuries and died on the spot, while their two horses were also crushed to death.

Local police arriving at the scene took custody of the bodies.

As per rescuers, the three men would provide dancing horses at weddings and other events. They said the accident allegedly occurred because of the speeding dumper truck.

In the other incident, a man and woman died and another woman was injured when a bus collided with a car near Darbar Amir Hussain on Kala Khatai Road in Sheikhupura.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesman, on receiving a call, a rescue team rushed to the spot.

He said as a result of the collision, Khalid (52) and Shafiq Bibi (40) died on the spot, while another woman, Shehla Khalid, was seriously injured.

The Rescue 1122 medical team provided first aid to injured woman and shifted her to hospital. Local police arrived at the scene and took custody of the bodies.

The accident reportedly occurred due to the speeding bus.
