PESHAWAR: The local chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf on Tuesday protested against the incarceration of party’s founder Imran Khan, restrictions on party leaders and lawyers as well as delay in his trial.

A large number of PTI workers gathered outside the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly building on Suray Pul and chanted slogans demanding release of the party’s founder. Several party leaders and lawmakers including Arbab Jehandad, Haji Fazl Elahi, MNA Asif Khan, Kamran Bangash, Engineer Hamidul Haq, Ali Zaman Advocate, Mahmood Jan Khan and other leaders were present in the gathering.

Addressing the participants on the occasion, the speakers demanded immediate release of Imran Khan and condemned restrictions on his lawyers and party leaders to meet their leader. They also demanded the release of Bushra Bibi and other party leaders and workers.

They said Mr Khan was the most popular leader of the country who had been put into jail by the ‘fake’ federal government. The speakers said that they would continue to struggle for the release of Mr Khan and other party leaders and workers and spare no effort in this regard. PTI Peshawar president Irfan Saleem in his speech thanked the party leaders and workers for the ‘making the protest a success’.
