PESHAWAR: Al-Khidmat Foundation, a charity organisation, has provided marriage assistance to 50 needy girls under its “Aasan Nikah” project.

The assistance package, worth lakhs of rupees, includes essential household items, to facilitate a dignified and comfortable start to their married life.

In this connection, a ceremony was held at Jamaat-i-Islami’s provincial headquarters here on Thursday wherein Al-Khidmat Foundation provincial president Khalid Waqas handed over the assistance packages to the beneficiaries.

The event was attended by Jamaat-i-Islami provincial general secretary Maulana Hanifullah and other dignitaries.

Addressing the ceremony, Kalid Waqas emphasised the significance of “Aasan Nikah” project, saying that it was a humanitarian initiative that transcended sectarian and ethnic boundaries. He appealed to philanthropists and wealthy individuals to support the project, which was meant to provide marriage assistance to needy and deserving couples.

“It is our collective responsibility to support underprivileged families and help them overcome financial difficulties. We urge everyone to contribute to this noble cause, enabling us to extend our support to a greater number of deserving individuals,” he said.

The assistance packages, valued at approximately Rs70,000 each, include essential household items such as washing machines, pedestal fans, irons, juicers, hot pots, washroom sets, cookers, utensils, dinner sets and winter items. These items are designed to facilitate a comfortable and dignified start to married life for the beneficiaries.
