GUJRAT: The University of Gujrat (UoG) Syndicate has approved a budget of Rs4.712 billion for the financial year 2024-25 at a meeting held at Hafiz Hayat Campus on Thursday.

The approval for the budget came in the 49th meeting of the syndicate which was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Zahoorul Haq.

As per a release issued by the UoG, the syndicate approved various proposals and decisions made unanimously at the previous meetings of the Academic Council and those of the Finance and Planning Committee.

Members of Punjab Assembly Waqqar Ahmed Cheema, Tariq Subhani and Tashfeen Safdar, Representative Chairman HEC Prof.

Dr Tariq Mahmood, Representative Chairperson PHEC Dr Mansoor Ahmed Baloch, Sargodha University Vice Chancellor Dr Qaisar Abbas, Sameera Elahi, Safia Javed Chaudhry, Chairman BISE Gujranwala Naveed Haider Shirazi, CEO District Education Authority Gujrat Nazia Shehzadi, Dean Prof. Dr Shahid Iqbal, Dean Prof. Dr Zahid Yousaf, Dean Prof. Dr Faisal Mahmood Mirza, Director ORIC Dr Audil Rashid and Director QEC Farhat Kausar attended the meeting.

Moreover, Representative Secretary HED Additional Secretary University Zahida Azhar, Representative Secretary Finance Deputy Secretary Education Amir Shaheen Ranjha, and Representative Secretary Law Additional Director Advisory Shahid Imtiaz attended online.

The VC told the syndicate members that the UoG was making great strides in providing quality education to the students. He reiterated that strategic planning plays a vital role in the uplift of higher education institutions.

The VC emphasised that providing quality education and research facilities to our youth is the key to progress and development of our country.
