LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has approached the chief secretary and applied for the party’s mass political meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan on March 22 – on the directions of the Lahore High Court.

PTI Punjab vice-president Akmal Khan Bari has sought the chief secretary should issue an NOC for the public meeting.

Mr Bari, in his application, stated that Imran Khan was head of the country’s largest political party and asserts that Pakistan and the Pakistan Army belonged to him. In order to display his loyalty, he said, Mr Khan wanted to hold a public meeting on the eve of Pakistan Day at Minar-i-Pakistan.

Mr Bari stated that Pakistan was created to ensure the supremacy of constitution and the law, which had now been compromised and the PTI was being discriminated against and not even allowed to hold a peaceful political activity.

The PTI vice-president stated that he had applied for the NOC to the Lahore deputy commissioner but he did not take any action.

Eventually, he said, he approached the LHC that asked him to approach the chief secretary for permission. He sought that the PTI be granted permission to hold the public meeting.
