LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar has lambasted the incumbent government for declaring political differences as state enmity and appealed to the establishment to save Pakistan from the ‘live political corpses’.

In a video message on Saturday, Mr Bhachar said that even the last signs of democracy had been evaporated from the country.

Referring to PTI founder Imran Khan’s article in the Time Magazine, the opposition leader said the world did not acknowledge ‘Uncle-Niece Form-47 government’ statements but that of Mr Khan. He said all the state institutions’ focus was on crushing the PTI and referred to the Oct 4 and Nov 24 events.

He added that this government had registered FIRs against 25,000 unidentified workers and raided thousands of houses.

Referring to the government’s ‘ambiguous political space’ offer to Mr Khan, the opposition leader said the PTI chief was head of the single largest party and representative of 250m people of Pakistan.

Regretting that the Parliament had become a rubber stamp, Mr Bhachar said the PTI was standing tall on its demand of a judicial commission regarding the May 9 and Nov 26 events.
