QUETTA: The provincial Apex Committee on Tuesday reviewed the law and order situation in Balochistan in view of the recent terrorist attacks and other violent incidents and took important decisions to deal with the situation.
The committee’s meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and attended by Commander Balochistan Corps Lt Gen Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari and other senior officials.
The committee reviewed the province’s security situation, counter-terrorism measures and the performance of security forces. It also assessed the implementation of decisions made in previous national and provincial apex committees’ meetings. Emphasis was placed on taking stringent measures against terrorism and enhancing intelligence sharing for more effective security operations.
CM Bugti reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order,stating that all institutions are aligned in their efforts to safeguard public lives and property.
Discussions also covered border management, anti-smuggling operations and steps taken under the National Action Plan. Senior officials agreed that close coordination between security forces and civil administration is essential for lasting peace in Balochistan.
The chief minister ordered immediate implementation of the decisions made in the meeting, assuring that the government will take all necessary measures to protect citizens and sustain developmental projects.
