CHINIOT: A woman threw acid on the man for breaking up with her at Chak 245-JB on Friday.

In the FIR, one Riaz said he was sitting in his house along with his son, Faisal, and other relatives when Naeema Bibi, daughter of Sarwar, along with her accomplices Usman and Shan, appeared, saying they would teach Faisal a lesson for not maintaining relationships with her.

Naeema was holding a bottle of acid and she threw it on Faisal which burnt his face, arms, legs and other parts. Faisal was taken to the DHQ hospital in a critical condition where doctors referred him to Allied Hospital, Faisalabad.

Langrana police registered a case against the nominated suspects and arrested all of them.

ENCOUNTER: A suspect was injured in an encounter with Saddar police on the Chiniot-Pindi Bhattian Road.

Saddar police were patrolling the road when they were informed about some robbers looting the road users near village Salaray at night.

They rushed to the spot and asked the robbers to surrender. The suspects opened fire at police who retaliated. When guns from both sides went silent, police searched the area and found one of the suspects in the fields in an injured condition. The suspect was taken to hospital where he was identified as Ali Hassan of Rai Chand area of Chiniot. He was already wanted by police in scores of cases, including those of robbery.

FIRE: A minor girl died while four members of her family fainted when their house caught fire at village Obhan in tehsil Bhowana.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot and found Fatima (7) dead while Ghulam Zehra (5), Ali Raza (16), Zulekha (40) and Maryam (12)

sustained serious burns. They were shifted to the THQ Hospital Bhowana.
