DS Polo and BN/Newage Cables win at National Polo

LAHORE: DS Polo and BN/Newage Cables secured victories in the Bank Alfalah 62nd National Open Polo Championship for the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup here at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Friday.

DS Polo edged out HN Polo 8-6 in a closely contested match, with Max Charlton and Lao Abelenda contributing four goals each for the winners.

The victors established an early 4-1 lead by the second chukker before HN Polo rallied to tie the score 4-4 in the third. DS Polo then surged ahead with three goals in the fourth chukker to secure the win despite a late push from their opponents.

Pelayo Berazadi led HN Polo with four goals, while Hamza Mawaz Khan added two in the losing effort.

In the day’s second match, BN/Newage Cables dominated Olympia/AZB 10-6 with Santiago Cernadas leading the charge with six goals. Hamza Mawaz Khan, playing in place of injured Solari, contributed three goals, while Babar Naseem added one.

For Olympia/AZB, Luis Manuel Aguirre scored three goals, Abdul Rehman Munno netted two and Ahmed Zubair Butt added one.
