LARKANA: A man was killed and his four family members were wounded in an attack on them in their house allegedly by his rivals in an old dispute on late Saturday night.

The victim family resided in Gul Mohammad village, about 30kms from here, within the jurisdiction of the Arija Pherhi Wara police station.

The police said that a group of armed men sneaked into the house and opened indiscriminate fire on the family killing its head, Bashir Ahmed Umrani, 50. His wife, Lal Pari Khatoon, daughter Hajani and two sons, Bakhat Ali, 20, and Sadam Hussain, 25, were wounded in the attack.

The attackers escaped from the area, the police said.

The victims were taken to the Trauma Centre of the Chandka Medical College Hospital where, the condition of the wounded victims was stated to be stable.

Ghulam Abbas Umrani, a close relative of the deceased, claimed that the incident had roots in an old honour killing matter between the two sides.

Saith Ali Umrani, the son of the deceased has lodged an FIR against eight persons and mentioned the motive behind the attack as an old domestic issue.
