KARACHI: Acting on the directives of Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, the transport department on Sunday extended the operating hours of seven routes of the Peoples Bus Service (PBS) until 1am.

The new timings will apply from March 16 (15th of Ramazan).

The extended timings will apply to R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-9, R-10 and EV-1 routes.

“We understand the challenges faced by citizens during Ramazan. Since the majority of them rely on public transport, the purpose of this extension is to provide them greater travel convenience,” said Mr Memon in a statement.

He emphasised the decision aims to ensure that people can return home safely after shopping. “This extension is part of the government’s efforts to provide better and more convenient travel options for the public during Ramazan,” he added.
