KARACHI: A minor girl drowned in an underground water tank in her Surjani Town home on Sunday.

Area SHO Ghulam Hussain Pirzada said that while her mother was washing clothes, her two-year-old son started crying and she took him to a room to feed. In the meantime, four-year-old Ayesha fell in the uncovered water tank and drowned. He said that she was already dead by the time her mother found her.

Guard shot dead in Gulshan

A private security guard was gunned down in Gulshan-i-Iqbal late on Saturday night, police said on Sunday.

They said Hasan, 28, was shot and killed by another guard, Ishaq, in Block-6. The suspect was arrested.

They said the held suspect was basically a driver and not a trained guard. He told the police that he accidentally put a finger on the trigger of his gun which went off, killing Hasan.
