SWAT: A fresh wave of rain in the plains and snowfall on the mountains began on Tuesday after a week’s break, further dropping temperatures in Swat and surrounding areas.

According to Meteorological Department, the new spell of snowfall started in high-altitude regions including Kalam, Utror, Gabral, Matiltan, Mankiyal, Bahrain, Gabin Jabba, Jarogo, Malam Jabba and Sangar where mountains received moderate to heavy snow.

Meanwhile, rainfall was recorded in the plains with Madyan, Khwazakhela, Matta, Barikot, Kabal and Mingora experiencing persistent showers, intensifying the chill in the region. The residents of Mingora and other low-lying areas have once again turned to warm clothing, including jackets, to combat the cold weather conditions.

The fresh weather pattern is expected to continue for the next few days, with temperatures likely to remain low across both the plains and mountainous areas of Swat.

In Bajaur, five people suffered wounds when a motorcar they were travelling was overturned owing to rain on Monday.

According to a statement of Rescue 1122, the accident occurred on Bajaur-Peshawar Road in Nawagai area when the vehicle coming from Peshawar, suddenly overturned due to heavy rain.

It said that a team of rescuers along with a recovery vehicle immediately rushed to the site and recovered the car. The statement stated that condition of the wounded including the car driver, was stabled. They went to their respective localities after getting first aid in the nearby hospital.
