LAKKI MARWAT: The provincial government has allocated a huge chunk of funds for the construction of new roads in Karak district, claims District Development Advisory Committee chairman Khursheed Khattak.

Talking to reporters on Monday, he said the construction of roads both in urban and rural areas had been the longstanding demand of local people. He said that the provincial government would spend Rs70 million on construction of seven new roads in order to provide people with better communication facilities.

“The construction work on Chanikhel road, Tehsil Chowk to Children Hospital road, Terri bypass to Shagai road, Ghundi Kalay to Indus Highway, Indus Highway to Zar Khan Kallay and Topi Kallay and Lashti Koroona to Inzer Mor and Surki Lawaghar to Faqeerabad road will begin as and when funds are released,” he said.

He said that he along with provincial minister Mohammad Sajjad Barakwal and MNA Shahid Khattak convinced the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister to provide funds for roads.

The MPA said that a major chunk of funds would be spent on improving the existing road infrastructure in the district.

He said that the PTI lawmakers would fulfil all the promises they had made with the area people.
