ISLAMABAD:A lone robber looted a group of 10 friends at gunpoint, besides kidnapping one of them for ransom, police said.

The incident took place in the area of Golra police station when Abdul Muqeet was returning from Buddhist stupa along with his nine friendsafter Iftar.

A gunman intercepted them when they reached mountains at Shah Allahdita and held them at gunpoint.

Later, the robber snatched five mobile phones and Rs5,600 cash from them and managed to escape.

While escaping, the gunman kidnapped one of them and asked them to arrange Rs100,000 ransom for his release.

Later the gunman took Tariq along with him.

Golra police have registered a case under section 392 and 365A of PPC.

In another incident, a culprit raped a transgender person and looted Rs1.7million from her in an area of F-11/1. A case has been registered at Shalimar police station in response to a complaint lodged by the transgender.
