HARIPUR: The University of Haripur on Tuesday terminated the services of the security supervisor over the harassment of students.

The action comes on the recommendation of an inquiry committee, says a notification from the office of the UoH’s assistant registrar (establishment).

The committee, comprising the registrar, chief proctor and director (administration), was formed by the vice chancellor on March 3 after the Islami Jamiat Talaba, the student wing of Jamaat-i-Islami, protested the alleged harassment and demanded action.

The committee found the supervisor guilty of the charge and recommended his immediate sacking.

Meanwhile, the terminated supervisor, in a social media video message, denied the harassment allegation and insisted that he was “trapped by a gang of criminals who forced me to record the videos.”
