GUJRAT: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a Rs1 million prize each for three officials of Federal investigation Agency, Gujranwala circle, for arresting a key suspect involved in sending the victims of Greece boat capsize tragedy.

Human trafficker Usman Jajja of Sialkot was wanted in at least 19 cases of human trafficking lodged against him in connection with December 2024 Greece boat tragedy as well as the Moroccan boat tragedy of January 2025.

An FIA team led by Assistant Director Gujranwala circle Shahid Majeed had arrested Usman Jajja during a crackdown.

Official sources said the PM had given Rs1m cash award to each of three FIA officials including Shahid Majeed, Inspector Rana Asif and Sub Inspector Nadeem Gujjar for arresting Usman Jajja.
