RAWALPINDI: US Chargé d’Affaires in Islamabad Natalie A. Baker visited the Race Course Traffic Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday where she was briefed on crime prevention measures and traffic management mechanism.

According to a statement, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Beenish Fatima gave a detailed briefing to the visiting delegation about the procedure for obtaining a driver’s licence.

On this occasion, the guest also visited the traffic auditorium where Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani gave a detailed briefing on the overall performance of the Rawalpindi police, security measures and crime prevention measures.

A traffic police spokesman said that the diplomat visited the traffic headquarters on the special invitation of Rawalpindi CTO.

Other members of the American delegation also accompanied her.

During the visit, the senior US diplomat, along with the CPO and CTO, inspected the ‘One Window Licencing Hall’.

On this occasion, Beenish Fatima briefed the guests about the “modern and transparent procedure for obtaining a driving licence”.

The US senior diplomat expressed her satisfaction while appreciating the modern system, the traffic police spokesperson said.

After this, the guest inspected the driving simulator where she was briefed on the training stages and the use of modern technology.

The American delegation described the initiative of the Rawalpindi traffic police as “effective”.

Later, the US diplomat visited the driving testing track, where she was informed about the driving test procedure and the welfare measures of the traffic police.

The senior American diplomat appreciated the performance of the police and termed it a positive step for the convenience of the public.

The Rawalpindi CTO highlighted the duties and challenges of the traffic police and the steps taken to maintain traffic flow on the roads.

She briefed the delegation on how the city traffic police were providing facilities to the citizens with the help of modern technology, effective strategies and efficient personnel.

During the visit, Ms Bakeralso reviewed the modern gadgets used by the traffic police.
