ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa on Wednesday expressed his desire to draw Chinese investment in various recreational projects in Islamabad.

CDA ChairmanMohammad Ali Randhawa was meeting a delegation from the Chinese Embassy on Wednesday at the CDA Headquarters. The delegation, led by Minister Counselor Yang Guangyuan of the Chinese Embassy, included Second Secretary Xie Yang and Attache Yang Depang.

Mr Randhawa said CDA plans to start some tourism projects that include electric cable car, Islamabad eye ferris wheel, theme park, and zipline in F-9 Park.

The Chinese delegations showed interest in investing in the establishment of Tier-4 data centres in Pakistan and CDA wants to get more Chinese investment in recreational and tourism sector as well.

According to a press release issued by CDA, Chinese delegation appreciated CDA’s efforts to make Islamabad beautiful and modern. CDA chief stated that CDA welcomes Chinese companies to invest in Islamabad, adding that digital economy and the IT are the bright future of Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan seeks to benefit from China’s experience in the fields of big data and digitisation. The Chinese delegation showed interest in investing in the establishment of Tier-4 data centers in Pakistan.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa mentioned that CDA is selecting the best location for the establishment of data centres. He emphasised that Islamabad has the potential to become a hub for big data centres.

CDA chief stated that the technical expertise and experience of China in establishing data centres will be fully utilised. According to the press release, meeting also witnessed a commitment from both CDA and China to collaborate in development of digital infrastructure in Islamabad.

The meeting also discussed the establishment of various tourism and recreational projects. The CDA chairman mentioned that Islamabad has excellent opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The Chinese delegation appreciated the inclusion of several recreational projects in Islamabad. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to enhancing mutual collaboration in the fields of data centres and other sectors.
