SWABI, April 27: A revised budget of Rs63.2 million was presented at a meeting of the Swabi tehsil council here on Thursday by convener Shamsul Qamar.
“The tehsil government has faced various problems due to financial problems. Despite that efforts have been made to meet the expectations of people who had been neglected by previous rulers,” Mr Qamar said.
He said that total expenditure was about Rs61 million and the income about Rs56 million and the gap between expenditure and revenue created problems.
However, he said that for non-development expenditures Rs43.2 million had been allocated and Rs17.1 million for development sector.
The remaining amount was allocated for other sectors. He said the top priority of the government was to provide potable water, improve the sewerage system and repair damaged roads.
Mr Qamar said that proper representation and share had been given to each area in the funds and efforts had been made to provide basic facilities to all people.
He expressed the hope that the revised budget would be passed by the council on Friday.
