Ticket Wala wins silver in Asia for its impact on the Pakistani entertainment industry
Ticket Wala, Pakistan’s prominent entertainment marketplace and event ticketing platform, was honoured with the Gold Award at the prestigious HBL P@SHA ICT Awards 2024 in the Media and Entertainment – Consumer Category before securing Silver as the first runner-up at the renowned Asia Pacific ICT Alliance APICTA Awards 2024 in Brunei Darussalam across four consumer categories including Media and Entertainment, Tourism and Hospitality, Retail and Distribution.
The Silver in Asia was the best performance of a Pakistani company at this year’s APICTA Awards, which featured top teams from 17 different economies including Hong Kong, China Taipei, Australia, Singapore, Thailand and more. It was a global recognition of Ticket Wala’s nationwide impact, excellence in consumer engagement and its growing presence within the entertainment sector, where they have transformed how consumers discover, access and enjoy live entertainment across niches and categories.

“We’re thrilled to be winning prestigious national and regional tech awards,” said Rehan Botejue, the co-founder and director of Ticket Wala. “The recognition from both the HBL P@SHA ICT Awards and the APICTA Awards is a reflection of our team’s exceptionally hard work up to this point, and underlines our commitment to streamlining the connections between event promoters, artists and fans, in Pakistan and beyond.”

About Ticket Wala:
Founded in 2019 by Rehan Botejue, Zayan Abedeen and Zayaan Bawany, Ticket Wala originally set out to create a marketplace product for all the event promoters in the country. Over time, the team has evolved: today, it’s a vertically integrated entertainment company that lists and tickets events, manages artists and creates its own event productions - including Hasan Raheem’s acclaimed Nautanki Tour of Pakistan. The marketplace has listed over 2,500 events in Pakistan in the last three years, working with over 900 of the top promoters in the country and serving over 300,000 monthly users as of 2024.

Pakistan hosts a diverse range of events, from concerts, festivals, and art exhibitions to adventure tours, sea-leisure trips, workshops, seminars, theatre performances, comedy shows, live gigs and fashion shows. The country’s event industry continues to grow, driven by passion, creativity and a commitment to quality. At the centre of this evolution is Ticket Wala, which has digitised the sector, established the first dataset on Pakistani event-goers, and fostered an audience that has encouraged numerous promoters to enter the market and enhance the standard of their events.
Ticket Wala is launching its global operations in 2025, capitalising on the astronomical potential of the markets in North America, UK, Australia and MENA for South-Asian events, where large diaspora communities and the new generation of Pakistani Artists will be connected via the platform.
