PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Acting Chief Justice Syed Mohammad Attique Shah performed groundbreaking for construction of the building of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal at a ceremony held here on Thursday.
Apart from the chief justice, the ceremony was also attended by a senior judge Justice Syed Arshad Ali, PHC registrar Ikhtiar Khan, chairman of the KP Service Tribunal Kaleem Arshad, Peshawar district judge Inamullah Wazir, PHC additional registrar (Administration) Mamrez Khan, vice chairman of KP Bar Council, Ahmad Farooq Khattak, other members of the bar council, office bearers of Peshawar Bar Association and others.
The acting chief justice unveiled the plaque at the groundbreaking ceremony for construction of purpose-built courtrooms and offices for the tribunal.
An executive engineer of the communication and works department briefed the participants about the project, which would be completed at a cost of Rs220 million. He said the five-story building would include all the modern facilities required for functioning of the tribunal.
The chief justice took keen interest in the project and directed that as government servants were in a large number in the province, therefore, proper facilities for the litigants should be ensured in the project.
He said that there should be separate waiting areas for the male and female litigants as well as separate washrooms.
The participants also visited the project site.
